How to Unbrick a FULLY bricked PSP (Install CFW/Downgrade)
Alright, this is my tutorial on how to unbrick your FULLY bricked PSP (Can also be used to install Custom Firmware on a PSP, as well as downgrading a PSP). I tried tons of tutorials but none of them worked.
This method worked for me, so hopefully it will work for you. It is very easy, people say a fully bricked PSP is hard to fix, but if a Jarhead like me can do it, so can you. Ok, here's what you need. -A Bricked PSP -A Pandora Battery -A Memory Stick (128MB to 2GB is best, but no lower than 128MB) -Windows XP (Vista won't work, trust me) -RainsUltraLite Magic Memory Stick Maker Code: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=3G7R5BHM-Official 5.00PBP Code: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ETAIENBF-Recovery Flasher Code: http://www.mediafire.com/?tqnzitdoqdnStep 1- Ok, first, download the RainMMS file and the Official 5.00PBP update (Links above) Once downloaded, extract the RainMMS zip using the "extract to (folder name)" method. You should now have a RainsUltraLiteMMS folder. Now, take the 5.00PBP you downloaded and place it in that folder. Next, connect your Memory Stick to the computer, either via a USB enabled device, or using a MS adaptor. Now, run RainsMMS Maker. Chose the drive your Memory Stick is in, and check the Format box. (Back up if needed) Now, click on Make MMS. I had a lot of trouble doing this using Vista, I kept getting a "IPL Injection Error", however, I didn't get this error using Windows XP. Anyways, once everything is finished (with no errors) close the program, and take out the Memory Stick. Congrats, you now have a Magic Memory Stick. Step Two- Put your MMS into your PSP. Make sure your PSP is off, and that no battery is in. Next, put your pandora battery in while holding down the L trigger. Wait 5 seconds. A menu should come up. Install the CFW and reboot at the end. You now have a Semi-Bricked PSP my friend Half-ways there. Next, you'll need the recovery eboot. Download the recovery eboot from the link above. Follow the instructions in the read me text. If you haven't noticed, you can now access the recovery menu on your PSP. Boot up your PSP (with the regular battery, but keep the MMS in!) and hold down the R trigger while you are booting it. The recovery menu should come up. Connect your PSP via USB. Copy the RECOVERY folder (in the recover flasher zip) to PSP\GAME Now, on your recovery menu, run the recovery EBOOT. Follow the on screen instructions and format your flash. Step 3- Enjoy your PSP If you followed the instructions properly, your PSP should now work. Remember, you need a MMS to boot up your PSP from now on, your PSP will seem bricked if you boot it with a regular Memory Stick. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. This was my first tutorial, so if I'm missing anything, please let me know. password for files virus infected ![]() ![]() |

RE: How to Unbrick a FULLY bricked PSP (Install CFW/Downgrade)
Thank you for the info Trickstar.
I've ordered a pandora battery from dealextreme and have a 1gb sandisk mms in order to unbrick my psp. You wrote : "your PSP will seem bricked if you boot it with a regular Memory Stick" Do you mean I would be able to boot the PSP with ANY memory stick, Or just with the one i've unbricked it with ? Thank you

RE: How to Unbrick a FULLY bricked PSP (Install CFW/Downgrade)
Thank you for the reply.
Maybe it's possible after unbricking it in the way you suggested it to put another firmware or something that will enable it to work with other memory cards ? |
